Rent the quad

A CFORCE 850 with 800 cc and a good 69 hp, model year 2025, in the middle of Adelboden.

This is not a beginner's machine. The CFORCE 850 is one of the most powerful street-legal quads around: a liquid-cooled V-twin of 800 cubic centimetres, 51.2 kilowatts, selectable four-wheel drive. Two up, with luggage, on a mountain road – there is power to spare.

Two seats, a lockable top box for jackets and provisions, a winch at the front. The quad is kept at our house on Zwischenpörternweg, a few minutes from the chalet. We rent it by the day or for several days – to our chalet guests and to anyone else who wants to take a ride through the Bernese Oberland.

We hand the vehicle over in person at our house on Zwischenpörternweg, explain how it works and give you route suggestions. If you are staying at Chalet Legi, we bring the quad to the chalet on request. Two helmets are included.

The vehicle

It rides like an automatic: no clutch, no gears. Twist the throttle and the CVT does the rest, forwards and in reverse. If you have never sat on a quad before, ten minutes of instruction will get you going.

Prices

All prices in Swiss francs, helmets and instruction included. The quad is handed over with a full tank and returned with a full tank.

DurationPrice

Full week, 7 daysCHF 1600

Guests staying at Chalet Legi pay 20 per cent less. The discount applies to the whole rental while you are staying in the house: one day is then CHF 304, a weekend CHF 560, a whole week CHF 1280.

From the fourth day it gets cheaper. Every further day then costs 20 per cent less – CHF 200 instead of 250, or CHF 120 instead of 150 at the standing rate. The two discounts can be combined.

Several days, low mileage: the standing rate

If you would like the quad for longer but only plan short rides, you do not pay the full daily rate. You book the first day at CHF 380 with 150 kilometres and add as many standing days at CHF 150 as you like – each standing day adds 20 kilometres, and from the fourth day it costs CHF 120.

If you do feel like a longer tour after all, you simply pay the extra kilometres at CHF 1.20 – no rebooking needed. If you already know you want to cover a lot of ground, tell us beforehand: a normal additional day with 150 kilometres is then cheaper than a standing day plus extra kilometres.

Bookings go through the form on this site. At short notice – less than two days ahead – please also send us a WhatsApp message, otherwise we might see the enquiry too late.

On top of that

  • Deposit CHF 1000. Placed at handover and released after the return check – in cash, by TWINT, by bank transfer in advance, or as a card hold via a payment link. For drivers under 25 it is CHF 2000, because the insurance excess is higher in that case.
  • Fuel is at your expense. Full tank out, full tank back.
  • 150 kilometres per day are included, each further kilometre costs CHF 1.20. Standing days add 20 kilometres each.
  • Cleaning. If the quad comes back heavily soiled we charge CHF 80.

Who may drive

  • Minimum age 18.
  • A valid driving licence of category B or B1. The quad is registered as a light four-wheeler, and a normal car licence (B) covers it – B includes B1. A motorcycle licence alone is not enough.
  • We check the licence at handover and take a photo of it.
  • Only the driver named in the rental agreement may ride. Changes only by arrangement with us.
  • No alcohol, no drugs, no medication that affects your ability to drive.

What you need to know

Driving on forest roads is prohibited throughout Switzerland, even where there is no sign. The quad is a road vehicle, not an off-road toy. You ride on public roads – and for that, the passes and side valleys here are superb.

  • Helmets are compulsory. We provide two; your own are welcome.
  • We strongly recommend sturdy shoes, long trousers and gloves.
  • No burnouts, no spinning wheels. Normal wear is included in the price. Anyone who deliberately ruins the tyres or the drivetrain pays for the repair – it is in the rental agreement.
  • Four-wheel drive and the differential locks belong off-road, not on asphalt. On snow, gravel or wet grass they help; on hard surfaces the drivetrain binds up and takes damage. We show you at handover when to engage them – and when not to.
  • Many alpine and mountain roads carry a no-entry sign. Those signs apply to the quad as well. If you are unsure, ask us first – we know which roads are open.
  • Private roads and meadows are off limits unless signs explicitly allow them.
  • Ride quietly and slowly in the village and in residential areas – we live here.
  • In snow, ice or heavy rain we decide together whether the ride makes sense.

Where it is worth going

To the Engstligen Falls

The short loop from Adelboden: down to one of the most impressive waterfalls in Switzerland, dropping more than 600 metres. Done in one to two hours and still worth it.

The old Adelboden road

The former link between Frutigen and Adelboden: narrow, winding and with views you never get from the new road. Exactly the kind of road a quad is made for. Ideal as a half day.

Kandertal and Kandersteg

Via Frutigen into the Kandertal, with a detour towards Kandersteg. Also a good half-day ride.

Around Lake Thun

A full day: via Frutigen and Spiez to Lake Thun and all the way round. If you like, add the climb up to Beatenberg or Sigriswil – that is where the viewpoints are.

These are suggestions, not fixed routes. Tell us how much time you have and we will put together a loop that fits – and tell you which roads are open.

How it works

  1. You fill in the form on this page with the date you have in mind and how long you want the quad. Less than two days ahead? Then also send a WhatsApp message to +41 79 860 60 49.
  2. We check whether the quad is free and confirm date and price in writing.
  3. At handover we check the licence, go through the controls and record the condition together. Allow twenty minutes.
  4. You sign the rental agreement, place the deposit, and off you go.
  5. On return we look at the vehicle together and release the deposit.

A date is firm as soon as we have confirmed it. Handover and return happen in person, at a time that works for both sides – at our house on Zwischenpörternweg 1 or, for guests of Chalet Legi, at the chalet itself on Ausserschwandstrasse 65.

The written rental agreement you sign at handover applies. The lessor is Zytlos Adel GmbH, Adelboden.
